A pharmacological study of the depression of spinal neurones by glycine and related amino acids

摘要: An analysis has been made in anaesthetised cats of the depression by glycine and related amino acids firing spinal dorsal horn interneurones, Renshaw cells cortical neurones. In general, electrophoretically administered was a more potent depressant interneurones than GABA. The reverse true for neurones, whereas these two were approximately equally effective upon cells. Strychnine blocked action α- β-amino acids, but not that γ- higher ω-amino acids. Only convulsants having strychnine-like effect on post-synaptic inhibition glycine. neurones produced or GABA affected structural analogues depressants, substances influencing acid transport systems. Some evidence obtained enzymic inactivation tissue. results are discussed terms involvement glycine-like as major inhibitory transmitter.
