摘要: We monitored the impact of habituation for tourism through changes in gorillas' behavior during process at Bai Hokou (Dzanga-Ndoki National Park, Central African Republic) from August 1996 to December 1999. From 1998 onwards we focused on one gorilla group: Munye. During process, it became increasingly easier locate and remain with gorillas. Their initial reactions aggression, fear vocalization upon contact were replaced by ignoring us. Curiosity appeared be an intermediate stage process. The way which contacts Munye ended more subdued over time. Regular daily is important promoting habituation. Likewise, contacting gorillas while they are a tree or dense forest provides positive results compared open habitat. Contacts within 10 m without forewarning observer presence, e.g., via tongue clacking, should avoided. As 1999, had progressed well; western feasible. However, experience negative effects showing, example, increase path length, contact. Impacts diminish Given these other potentially effects, decision begin not taken lightly.
