摘要: Infection of erythrocytes with the human malaria parasite, Plasmodium falciparum, results in dramatic changes to host cell structure and morphology. The predicted functional localization STEVOR proteins at erythrocyte surface suggests that they may be involved parasite-induced modifications membrane during parasite development. To address biologic function proteins, we subjected a panel stevor transgenic parasites wild-type clonal lines exhibiting different expression levels for genes assays exploring membrane. Using this approach, show impacts deformability This process facilitate sequestration deep tissue vasculature.
