摘要: The miscibility of polyester/nitrocellulose blends was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry and Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Two nitrocelluloses (NC) derived from wood having different nitrogen contents (12.62 13.42%) were used. On the basis glass transition temperature criterion, poly(ϵ-caprolactone) (PCL), poly(valerolactone), poly(ethylene adipate), poly(butylene adipate) are miscible with nitrocellulose, whereas poly(α-methyl α-propyl β-propiolactone) β-proiolactone) immiscible. Tg versus composition curves PCL/NC do not follow a monotone function but exhibit singular point at critical PCL volume fraction 0.51 for NC-1342 0.45 NC-1262 in agreement Kovacs' theory. A shift 17 cm-1 carbonyl stretching band observed is taken as evidence hydrogen bonding interaction between group NC hydroxyl group. frequency difference free absorbance absorbances hydrogen-bonded species found to be 85 pure 125 blends; it indicates that average strength this stronger than corresponding self-associated NC. presence dipole-dipole nitrate-ester groups polyesters reported. relative interactions discussed correlated polymer miscibility.
