摘要: The article first presents a broad overview of the fault management mechanisms involved in deploying survivable optical mesh network which employs crossconnects. We review various protection and restoration schemes, primary back-up route computation methods, shareability optimization, dynamic restoration. then describe different parameters that can measure quality service provided by WDM to upper protocol layers (e.g., IP backbones, ATM leased lines, virtual private networks), such as availability, reliability, time, restorability. these concepts, factors affect them, how improve them. In particular, we present framework for cost-effective availability-aware connection provisioning provide differentiated services networks. Through framework, more realistic scenario multiple near-simultaneous failures be handled. addition, emerging problem protecting low-speed connections bandwidth granularities is also reviewed.
