摘要: Limb amputations, probably caused by amniotic constriction bands, were examined histologically in a 20 week human fetus to assess the degree of intrauterine healing. No acute inflammatory process, no removal necrotic material, and granulation tissue formation seen at any amputation sites. A recent ulcer, friction an exposed piece bone stump right leg, also showed response. Healing was coagulation minor mesenchymal proliferation without repair. Similar changes have been described experimental wound healing rats, lambs, opossums baboons. Conversion from non-specific classical postnatal response occurs sometime before term. It is not known what point this change takes place man; examination infant suggests that it after twentieth gestation.
