摘要: The ovine Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) harbors clusters of genes involved in overall resistance/susceptibility an animal to infectious pathogens. However, only a limited number MHC have been identified and no adequate sequence information is available, as compared those swine bovine. We previously constructed BAC clone-based physical map that covers entire class I, II III region MHC. Here we describe the assembling complete DNA for by shotgun sequencing 26 overlapping clones. generated approximately 8-fold genome equivalent data were successfully assembled into finished spans 2,434,000 nucleotides length, covering almost all loci currently known sheep cattle. Gene annotation resulted identification 177 protein-coding genes/ORFs, among which 145 not reported sheep, 10 species specific, absent cattle or other mammals. A comparative analyses human, revealed high conservation structure order except II, divided IIa IIb subregions cattle, separated large piece non-MHC autosome 18.5 Mb. In addition, total 18 non-protein-coding microRNAs predicted first time. An was clone. This makes second ruminant available evolution functional studies, following results analysis support hypothesis inversion ancestral chromosome containing has shaped structures ruminants, observed Identification relative numbers helps provide evidence are actively regulation gene expression function.
