Pitting corrosion of copper in sulphate solutions: inhibitive effect of different triazole derivative inhibitors

摘要: The inhibitive effect of 3-amino 1,2,4-triazole (ATA) on the pitting corrosion copper induced by sulphate ions was compared to that obtained with benzotriazole (BTAH) and 1-hydroxybenzotriazole (BTAOH) previous results in chloride media. It concluded action these compounds towards dependent aggressive species. For BTAH BTAOH, efficiency greater than which explained referring surface area covered organic molecules size ATA, an opposite behaviour observed quantum chemical calculations. First, binding energy between clusters Cu+ Cl− much weaker SO42−. Secondly, adsorption ATA linked more favourable its oxide. Moreover, ion had a larger ions.
