摘要: Abstract The potentiodynamic anodic polarization curve of α-brass (70% Cu–30% Zn) in 1 M LiBr solution showed an initial active region the alloy dissolution followed by two well defined current peaks then a narrow passivation before pitting potential ( E pit ) is reached. exhibited Tafel slope with 90 mV dec −1 attributed to formation CuBr 2 − complexes. were and Cu 2+ ions, respectively. change pH values did not affect curves α-brass. Increasing temperature from 30 90 °C changed corrosion type general one. addition 10 −2  M benzotriazole (BTAH) completely inhibited at 30 °C while it inhibit 90 °C. inhibition effect was adsorption BTAH molecules on surface, which obeys Langmuir isotherm. presence or absence confirmed using SEM.
