摘要: This chapter reviews the literature on relations of sexuality and space, particularly that focusing urbanisation as they are manifest in cities. Beginning by noting studies sought to explain concentration sexual “deviance” vice inner city districts, Chapter considers theoretical materials which have been important framing such studies, way these wider applicability study suburbs other spaces long regarded heteronormative. The hence alights emerging themes literature—including apparent assimilation LGBT identities cityscape changing visibilities commercial sex—and notes challenges persist terms understanding ways sexuality, gender, class, ethnicity age intersect cities increasingly global.
