摘要: Plant trials have been conducted at the Tacoma Smelter of ASARCO to assess effect on tuyere blockage and refractory erosion line, increasing injection pressure air into a Peirce-Smith converter. Four tuyeres each having an ID 19.1 mm (0.75 inch) were installed toward one end line No. 4 Air oxygen-enriched injected 414 kPag (60 psig) through these usual 83 (12 remainder in otherwise normal converter campaign. The test campaign consisted 88 charges lasted for 89 days. During this period, punching high-pressure was found be unnecessary; when, as precaution, cleaned by hand charge, they always open. Also, it observed that flow remained constant. Accretion formation around tip varied from charge influenced matte grade level oxygen enrichment.
