Cardioprotective and antioxidant effects of Opuntia dillenii haw fruit on Isoprenaline hydrochloride induced myocardial infarction in rats

摘要: A B ST R C T The aim of the present study is to investigate protective effect Opuntia dillenii ( kergawl) Haw fruit extract against isoprenaline hydrochloride (ISPH) induced myocardial infarction (MI) in rats. Pretreatment with at 2.5 and 5.0 ml/kg body weight for 30 days significantly prevented elevation serum marker enzymes namely SGOT, SGPT, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), troponin increased cardiac enzymatic antioxidant, TBARS lipid profile levels injured was more prominent weight. results thus demonstrated cardioprotective potential ISPH-induced associated oxidative stress.
