摘要: Abstract Background Thermal injuries are one of the most physically and psychologically devastating causes pediatric trauma. Post-traumatic sequelae such as hypertrophic scars contractures often result in long lasting morbidity disfigurement. Conservative therapy, including pressure garments silicone, is gold standard for scar management population. Most recently percutaneous collagen induction (PCI) was introduced an alternative treatment adults. The aim this report to share our experience with PCI children adolescents following thermal injuries. Patients methods Between July 2013 February 2016, a total 99 treatments were performed on forty-seven formation retrospective study. A medical roller device (Dermaroller®, Dermaroller GmbH, Wolfenbuttel, Germany) 2.5 mm needles used. All procedures carried out under general anesthesia. At end operation vitamin C oil (ENVIRON® AVST Body Oil; Environ Skin Care, Pty. Ltd., Cape Town, South Africa) applied topically. Photographs taken before minimum 4 weeks after first order document effect tissue. These images graded according Vancouver Scar Scale (VSS). Results median age at time 8.3 years (range, 0.8–21.2 years). interval between injury 18 months 4–170 months). There no intraoperative problems noted. Minor postoperative complications occurred 2 patients (4.3%). reported subjective improvement satisfied procedure results. Pre- post-treatment photographs available 40 patients, overall VSS scores improved all patients. Following single treatment, vascularity, pliability height improved, however there statistically significant pigmentation. Conclusions enrichment armamentarium adolescents. Further prospective studies recommended regarding optimal timing term outcome
