摘要: The chapter introduces the theoretical foundations of book, drawing on literature from medical sociology, STS, and innovation studies. It begins by describing innovation-as-an-emergent process conceptualisation innovation, contrasting this with linear model, it provides an overview social science problem technology adoption within healthcare settings. In bringing these two areas together, describes notion proto-platforms, Keating Cambrosio’s biomedical platforms. This book can thus be seen as a study patient-centred proto-platform, constituted various socio-technical elements that reflect ideals care, which has emerged to deliver DBS in paediatric context.
