摘要: The need to look at environmental-related problems from a systemic perspective has been increasingly highlighted in current scientific literature. Especially context of climate change uncertainty, it is helpful identify interdependencies and cascading impacts that might happen under certain management or policy scenarios. In the resilience given inherent complexity cities, this becomes especially relevant if one considers potential trade-offs perverse transformability interventions may have negative on environmental quality, social equity well-being. network theory argued be useful assess system’s robustness, connectivity dependency. Connectivity as characteristic system, particularly presented determinant urban literature, but, so far our knowledge, no study empirical evidence regard. To contribute debate, chapter uses case energy city Bilbao (Spain) illustrate role an system its positive effects transformability. Main findings point out context-specific nature property difficulty establishing normative desirable trend.
