摘要: Responses of the yeast genes encoding 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase, HMG1 and HMG2, to in vivo changes heme concentrations were investigated. Expression was determined by direct measurement mRNA transcribed from each gene, assay enzyme activity encoded expression lacZ fusions control regions gene. These studies indicated that stimulated heme, whereas HMG2 repressed heme. The effect on mediated HAP1 transcriptional regulator independent HAP2. Thus, reductase isozymes join a growing list gene pairs are regulated opposite ways.
