摘要: Abstract It was recently demonstrated that 17β-estradiol enhances phosphatidylcholine synthesis in fetal lung vivo. In order to determine whether estrogen acts directly on the lung, we examined influence of phospholipid and glycogen metabolism explants 18 day rat organ culture. Exposure resulted significant stimulation [Me- 3 H]choline incorporation into phosphatidylcholine, disaturated sphingomyelin. Incorporation [ H]acetate total increased by 63% ( P H] acetate various fractions, it found there a 29% increase phos-phatidylglycerol fraction These data indicate stimulates choline phospholipids. may specifically enhance phosphatidylglycerol, second most abundant pulmonary surfactant.
