Magnetic susceptibilities, crystal field Stark energies, and hyperfine behavior of Sm3+ in hexagonal single crystals of Sm(CF3SO3)3⋅9H2O

摘要: Single crystals of samarium trifluoromethanesulfonate (SmTFMS) were prepared from the slow evaporation aqueous solution SmTFMS. The are elongated along symmetry axis c hexagonal crystal. At room temperature, crystal sets parallel with applied magnetic field which indicates that susceptibility to (χ∥) is greater than perpendicular (χ⊥). χ∥ and χ⊥ measured 300 down 14 K. Magnetic anisotropy (Δχ=χ∥−χ⊥) obtained values was also checked by direct measurements Δχ both these results agreed very well. A crossover between has been observed at ∼56 K i.e., below this temperature χ∥<χ⊥. good theoretical simulation data SmTFMS achieved using one-electron (CF) theory.
