摘要: The Lower Cambrian Sirius Passet fauna from Peary Land, North Greenland, is a rich repository of soft-bodied and poorly-sclerotised fossils. A new arthropod the fauna, Kleptothule rasmusseni, described. animal broadly trilobite-like, possessing trilobed exoskeleton which divided into distinct cephalic, thoracic caudal regions. However, it unusual in that possesses large number segments, demonstrates pronounced cephalic segmentation, very narrow cephalon thorax. There some evidence was lightly mineralised.Kleptothule compared to olenellimd trilobites, especially those taxa possess many-segmented ‘opisthothorax’. Its morphology raises issues discussed by Lauterbach (1983) his assignment olenellids stem-group chelicerates. not considered herein such model can be supported. complete analysis basal trilobites leading them must await fuller description key China Greenland.
