摘要: Thirty-two strains of the novel species Starmerella meliponinorum sp. nov. were isolated from various substrates associated with three stingless bee (tribe Meliponini) in Brazil and one Costa Rica. The found garbage pellets (faecal material, discarded pollen or food, etc.), provisions, adult bees, honey propolis Tetragonisca angustula, Melipona quadrifasciata adults rufiventris Trigona fulviventris. sequence D1/D2 domains large-subunit rDNA showed that belongs to clade is most closely related Candida etchellsii, although two differ their sequences by 7 % base substitutions. S. homothallic assimilates few carbon sources. Nitrate utilized as a sole nitrogen source. type strain UFMG-01-J26.1T (=CBS 9117T).
