摘要: We aimed to briefly review literature on the impact of 1918–1919 influenza pandemic New Zealand’s military forces in First World War. Collectively, this work identifiedestablishedrisk factors, forexample, relating toage, preexisting chronic conditions, a relatively short time from enlistment foreign service, and crowded conditions (e.g. camps troop ship). But novel risk factors were also identified, e.g. larger chest size early year deployment. The historical experience has some potential lessons for future control including: need minimise crowding institutions other settings; being prepared waves; planning ‘protective sequestration’ settings.
