摘要: • Objective. —The goal of the study was to examine volume selected brain regions in a group mildly impaired patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD). Five were for analysis, all which have been reported show substantial change majority AD at some time course disease. Design. —Case-control experimenter "blinded." Setting. —Hospital-based magnetic resonance imaging center. Participants. —Fifteen subjects, eight diagnosis probable dementia Alzheimer type made concordance National Institute Neurological and Communicative Diseases Stroke/Alzheimer's Disease Related Disorders Association criteria seven age-matched healthy control subjects. Results. —Three volumetric measures significantly different between controls: hippocampus, temporal horn lateral ventricles, lobe. Two did not differentiate amygdala basal forebrain. A discriminant function analysis demonstrated that linear combination volumes hippocampus ventricles differentiated 100% controls from one another. Conclusions. results suggest may be useful as antemortem markers patients.
