摘要: Abstract.BACKGROUND: Burnout Syndrome is a mental condition caused by chronic exposure to work related stress and identifiedbythe presence of anyof the three distinct elements emotional exhaustion, depersonalization lack personal accomplish-ment. Middle grade doctors are backbone any tertiary care hospital / medical institution, partaking in unscheduled andinpatient care.OBJECTIVE: The aim this study was assess burnout syndrome middle tertiarycare Saudi Arabia.PARTICIPANTS: conducted at Armed Forces Hospital Southern Region, Khamis Mushyt, from August toOctober 2012 indepartments withatleastfiftyinpatient admissions per month withat leastfivemiddlegrade (Resident, Reg-istrarand SeniorRegistrar)doctors.Thedepartments wereObstetricsand Gynecology, InternalMedicine, Pediatrics,Emergency,General Surgery Nephrology..METHODS: This cross sectional descriptive analytical using Maslach Inventory-Health Ser-vices Survey self-reported stressor-identifying questionnaire ascertain possible precursors of, or contributing factors to,Burnout Syndrome.RESULTS: A total 96 proformas/questionnaires were collected anonymously maintain confidentiality syn-drome identified as high 88.5% respondents with exhaustion 68.8%, in63.6% low accomplishment 38.5%.CONCLUSION: authors concluded that among middle-grade facilityand urgent steps needed address problem ensure these physicians remain physically mentally healthy.Keywords: Depersonalization, accomplishment, health
