摘要: PURPOSE. To determine characteristics and final visual surgical outcomes of patients who experienced early onset postoperative inflammation after cataract surgery their late complications. METHODS. This is a prospective case series 126 out 1500 cases underwent during the first 2 weeks surgery. All received complete ocular examinations at signs symptoms inflammation. A total 110 with follow-up between 3 30 months recovery (mean 11.6 months) were enrolled in next part study to evaluate outcomes. Background systemic diseases, type surgery, intraocular lenses viscoelastic agent, complications, best-corrected acuity studied. RESULTS. Among patients, (8.4%) had inflammation, 64 (50.7%) male, 62 (49.3%) female. Early complications posterior synechia 9 (7.1%), pupillary block (1.5%), acute rise pressure 6 (4.7%). Late consisted capsular opacity 38 (34.5%) cystoid macular edema 4 (3.2%). Peak was all responded well topical steroids. Final (BCVA) 20/30 better 76 (69%), 20/40 20/80 24 (22%), less than 10 (9%). BCVA diseases like choroidal neovascularization scar or age-related degeneration, advanced glaucoma, corneal opacity. CONCLUSIONS. causes pain, decreased vision, patient anxiety phase but neither decreases nor has any significant permanent sequels. (Eur J Ophthalmol 2007; 17: 20-8)
