摘要: Corresponding author: ofrazao@inescporto.pt This study seeks the development of adaptive composites capable to monitor and actively dampvibrations. In proposed material, vibrations measurements are performed by an embeddedlow finesse optical fibre extrinsic Fabry–Perot interferometer, while active damping will beperformed embedded piezoelectric ceramics. paper focuses on ofthe monitoring procedure. The interrogation procedure for low fibreextrinsic interferometer was successfully used composite plate whensubmitted four-point bending dynamic tests at different frequencies. embedding bothsensing actuating components in carbon-fibre reinforced laminates is alsopresented. case actuator, effici ency process merely analysedfrom capability ceramic strain usingthe PZT inverse effect.
