摘要: A personal DNA sequence is not yet practically useful. But it could be, argues Steven E. Brenner, if we had the right resources available to interpret genomes. — as this week's cover story illustrates revealing frustrating. It yield so much more useful information means of interpreting all that data. In a Commentary, Brenner proposes means: Genome Commons. This public knowledge base genetic variation and its effect, culled from databases, diagnostic labs scientific literature. Such repository would be vast resource for research, medicine understanding ourselves. Continuing genomics theme, autobiographies two sequenced individuals who need no introduction are reviewed. And in Special Report, Ricki Lewis looks at growth counselling profession.
