摘要: Abstract Introduction The objective of this study was to assess tracheal reactivity after the deployment different self-expandable metal stents (SEMS). Material and methods Forty female New Zealand rabbits were divided into four groups. Three groups received three SEMS: steel (ST), nitinol (NiTi), or drug-eluting stent (DES); fourth group control (no stent). Stents deployed percutaneously under fluoroscopic guidance. Animals assessed by multi-slice, computed tomography (CT) scans, tracheas collected for anatomical pathology (AP) study. Data from CT AP statistically analyzed correlated. Results DES had longest stenosis (20.51 ± 14.08 mm vs 5.84 ± 12.43 6.57 ± 6.54 mm in NiTi ST, respectively, day 30; P revealed that ST developed intense proliferative compared other In group, a destructive response observed 70% animals, while least reactive stent. more effective detecting wall thickening (positive correlation 68.9%; Conclusions granulomas significant stenosis. stent, caused lesions may be related drug dosage.
