摘要: Summary The gastrointestinal (GI) epithelium is a highly regenerative tissue with the potential to provide renewable source of insulin + cells after undergoing cellular reprogramming. Here, we show that antral stomach have previously unappreciated propensity for conversion into functional insulin-secreting cells. Native endocrine share surprising degree transcriptional similarity pancreatic β cells, and expression cell reprogramming factors in vivo converts efficiently close molecular Induced GI can suppress hyperglycemia in diabetic mouse model at least 6 months regenerate rapidly ablation.
