摘要: Although the DSM-IV diagnostic criteria for Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) exclude Pervasive Developmental (PDD), some clinicians find that two disorders can be comorbid and, in fact, make a dual diagnosis. Nevertheless, few empirical studies have investigated clinical necessity this practice. In first of our studies, children with high-functioning PDD were selected from among 520 outpatients. Of these, also meeting AD/HD identified through psychologist’ts observation, completion ADHD-Rating Scale by parents and/or teachers, and child psychiatrist’s examination. We then examined impact subtype age on co-occurrence rate. Study 2 analyzed comorbidity cases taken 1. 53 subjects 1, 36 met AD/HD. The rate Asperger’s (AS)/Pervasive Disorder, Not Otherwise Specified (PDDNOS) (85%) was significantly higher than Autistic (57.6 %), symptoms more common younger children. demonstrated existence as separate disorders. conclude not only occur frequently PDD, but diagnosis is essential to implementation effective treatment.
