摘要: Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) is commonly used to measure the percentage of body fat (%BF), but its accuracy controversial. In addition, equations are specific group for which they were established. As far as we know, there no study examining BIA in Japanese middle-aged and older people. We compared %BF assessed using with that dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) 102 female 51 male local residents aged 40 78 y. Simple correlation coefficients 0.79 females 0.69 males, statistically significant (p<0.001). However, tended overestimate lower BF underestimate it higher group, only 45.1% 47.1% subjects measured accurately, i.e., within 10% measurement by DEXA. This result suggests this model an alternative estimating people well when a normal range, greater needed lean overweight subjects.
