摘要: In this work we present a detailed study on the magnetostrictive contribution to Poisson ratio for samples under applied mechanical stress. Magnetic contributions strain and cubic materials were derived by accounting elastic magneto-elastic anisotropy contributions. We apply our theoretical results material of interest in magnetomechanics, namely, galfenol (Fe1−xGax). Our show that there is non-negligible magnetic linear portion curve stress versus strain. The rotation magnetization towards [110] crystallographic direction upon application leads an auxetic behavior, i.e., exhibiting with negative values. This behavior provides novel insight discussion experimental developments display unusual properties.
