摘要: Synchrotron infrared spectra of CO and H2O adsorbed on a polycrystalline (pc) gold surface have been obtained for the first time Assignments were confirmed through isotopic shifts measurements with 13CO D2O. Surprisingly, was found to adsorb over wide range temperatures well above limit few K generally accepted in literature. adsorption occurred mostly atop sites characterized by strong C-O stretching mode at 2111 cm−1. A maximum absorption intensity 3% measured 132 coverage 5 20 L. But despite repeated efforts, no reproducible Au-C vibrations detected.
