Food habits of jaguar and puma were studied in two regions the Paraguayan Chaco. Biochemical analysis 280 scats attributed 106 to 95 puma. Overall dietary overlap was 65 percent they shared six seven main prey types. For both cats 43 items 15 biomass taken mammal species kg, 23 29 from 1–15 27 53 larger species. Birds, reptiles, insects made up remainder. In a developed region no significant differences between their diets found, while an undeveloped area more small mammals by species, took large than The potential roles competition habitat structure availability areas on these species’ are discussed.
