摘要: THE apparent efficiency with which wireworms (Agriotes obscurus, lineatus and sputator), when in an active feeding phase, find crop plants on to feed is very striking. It displayed even though these may not be particularly closely spaced at first occupy only a small proportion of the total soil surface. This makes it appear improbable that random wandering either or could offer complete explanation. Yet spite this, enormous literature wireworms, there seem no studies record throw any clear light methods by food found. The potential importance such knowledge as basis for elaboration trapping needs emphasis, was largely this reason work here described undertaken. hoped paper dealing investigations will shortly press. object letter summarize certain broad conclusions have so far emerged.
