摘要: We have examined the effects of lovastatin and pravastatin (competitive HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors) on growth survival rat brain neuroblasts. Lovastatin, but not pravastatin, suppressed cell by inducing apoptosis neuroblasts in a dose- time-dependent manner. Apoptosis was accompanied decrease both Bcl-2 Bcl-xL protein levels, suggesting that changes expression these genes may contribute to following treatment. Lovastatin treatment also associated with decreased prenylation Ras Rho A proteins whereas Rac 1 geranylgeranylation affected. were fully prevented mevalonate. The present data suggest induces its capacity specific involved signal transduction pathways control neuronal cells.
