摘要: Expression of the metallothionein gene is known to be induced by glucocorticoids in a variety cells. Here we show that human cell lines containing functional progesterone receptors, endogenous metallothionein-IIA (hMTIIA) inducible synthetic progestins R5020 and medroxy-progesterone acetate. That this effect reflects direct interaction with supported our finding partially purified receptor binds promoter region vitro. The limits DNase I footprint guanine residues protected methylation studies are similar those previously described for glucocorticoid receptor. Thus, hormone regulatory element can mediate regulation both progestins, as does mouse mammary tumor virus
