摘要: A protocol for the preparation of polymeric samples time-of-flight matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry (TOF-MALDI-MS) analysis was developed. Dithranol identified as a good matrix polystyrene (PS), and addition silver cationization molecules determined to be necessary. Based on this preparative method, low molecular weight other polymers [polyisoprene, polybutadiene, poly(ethylene oxide), poly(methyl methacrylate), polydimethylsiloxane] were analyzed with weights up 49 ku. The effects intensity influence distribution intact oligomers, most significantly polymers. Linear reflectron modes evaluated; better signal resolution obtained in mode. TOF-MALDI-MS measurements are compared secondary ion (TOF-SIMS) gel permeation chromatography (GPC) same Mn values calculated by consistently higher than TOF-SIMS all classes 8 PS from agreement GPC (±10%). composition terminal group polymer chain may affect yields. yields oligomers evaluated function end both TOF-SIMS. slight disparity results between perfluoroalkyl-terminated suggests that desorbed preferentially surface analysis, rather having an increased probability.
