The Outdoor MEDIA DOT: The development and inter-rater reliability of a tool designed to measure food and beverage outlets and outdoor advertising

摘要: Few studies of the food environment have collected primary data, and even fewer reported reliability tool used. This study focused on development an innovative electronic data collection used to document outdoor beverage (FB) advertising establishments near 43 middle high schools in Outdoor MEDIA Study. Tool GIS based mapping, form handheld devices, easily adaptable interface efficiently collect within environment. For study, two teams collectors documented all FB one half-mile six schools. Inter-rater was calculated overall by advertisement or establishment category using percent agreement. A total 824 advertisements (n=233), (n=499), (n=92) were (range=8–229 per school). Overall inter-rater developed ranged from 69–89% for establishments. Results suggest that is highly reliable effective documenting
