摘要: The adequate timing of adjuvant radiotherapy (RT) in breast cancer has become a subject increasing interest recent years. A population-based study was undertaken to determine the influence demographic and clinical factors on postoperative RT delay patients treated with breast-conserving surgery (BCS) assess impact survival. In total, 7800 BCS between 1986 1998 Yorkshire were included study. median interval start (S-RT interval) 8 weeks (7 for chemotherapy negative 11 positive patients). This increased substantially over time from 5 during 1986-1988, irrespective patients' status, 10 17 among patients, respectively, 1997-1998. S-RT also significantly influenced by travel centre, year at which centre patient had treatment (P<0.001). Overall, 5-year survival 82%. Patients intervals longer than 9 trend towards an relative risk death. reached statistical significance 20-26 (RR 1.49, 95% CI (1.16-1.92)). findings our suggest that delaying initiation after is associated decreased conservation surgery.
