摘要: Quorum sensing (QS) is a cell-to-cell communication that used by bacteria to regulate collective behaviors. controls virulence factor production in many bacterial species and it regarded as an attractive target combat pathogenicity, especially against antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Chlorogenic acid (CA), abundant fruits, vegetables, Chinese herbs, processes multiple activities. In this research, we explored its quorum quenching activity. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, CA significantly inhibited the formation of biofilm, ability swarming, factors including protease elastase activities rhamnolipid pyocyanin production. showed similar inhibitory effects Chromobacterium violaceum on biofilm formation, swarming motility, chitinolytic activity violacein We examined expression QS-related genes in P.aeruginosa  and found these were all downregulated treatment. Computational modeling revealed can form hydrogen bonds with three QS receptors. Caenorhabditis elegans mouse infection models employed explore anti-virulence effect pathogenesis process vivo. extended survival period reduced quantity P. aeruginosa nematode gut, showing moderate protective C. elegans. mice wound model, CA-treated groups accelerating healing rate number area was also decreased It suggested our research has potential be infection.
