摘要: In vitro fertilization with preimplantation genetic testing (IVF+PGT-M) reduces the risk of having a child affected by heritable condition, yet only one-third eligible patients are aware this reproductive option. Access to education materials written at appropriate literacy levels could raise patients’ awareness, but there is mismatch between patient reading ability and demand most materials. This study aimed systematically identify on IVF+PGT-M evaluate their levels. We hypothesized that would fail meet standards set Joint Commission Centers for Disease Control Prevention (CDC). To about from academic databases public-facing sources, an environmental scan was performed. Materials were analyzed using three validated scales: Simple Measure Gobbledygook, Patient Education Assessment Tool, Clear Communication Index. Seventeen identified databases, consumer search engine, professional organizations. The median level 14.5 grade, understandability 74.2%, comprehensibility 73.3%. For American adults, not readable, understandable, or clear. requires be below 5th grade CDC recommends 90% minimum score comprehensibility. No evaluated material met these guidelines. exceed average skills may perpetuate disparities in utilization IVF+PGT-M. communicate complicated subject understandable needed.
