摘要: Objective To determine the impact of initial infertility visit on treatment-related knowledge, patient anxiety, and appraisals treatment. Design Prospective survey. Setting Academic medical center. Patient(s) Two hundred thirty-four English-speaking women aged 18–50 years attending their first visit. Intervention(s) Participants completed a survey assessing health literacy, treatment process before after Main Outcome Measure(s) Knowledge anxiety appraisal scores. Result(s) Most participants were white earned >$100,000/year had at least college education. Baseline knowledge reproductive anatomy, assisted technology (ART), fertility factors was modest but improved Factors associated with higher included education income, or Asian ethnicity, English as primary language. Patient represented by positive (Challenge) negative (Threat Loss) subscale scores Appraisal Life Events (ALE) scale changed over time Negative decreased increased Lower scores; lower literacy (positive negative) Black Challenge compared women.
