摘要: Drooling is a common symptom of neurodegenerative diseases. We aimed to explore the frequency drooling and its relationship clinical features in relatively large cohort Chinese patients with multiple system atrophy (MSA). conducted cross-sectional survey 143 MSA. Patients were identified as those score ≥ 1 on item 6 Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale. Additional scales used rate daily functionality, neurologic cognitive capabilities, levels anxiety depression, sleep quality. These results compared between without drooling. The this was 59.4% (85/143). associated significantly poorer scores MSA Scale (subscore I, subscore II, IV, total score), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Hamilton Depression Scale, Anxiety Mini-Mental State Examination. After adjusting for confounders, regression analysis two independent risk factors drooling: parkinsonism-associated (OR 2.54, 95% CI 1.15–5.65) hypomimia 3.18, 1.32–7.68). among patients, appear be severity correlates presence severe motor symptoms, anxiety, disorders.
