摘要: Zeuxapta seriolae (Monogenea: Heteraxinidae) infection was associated with important mortalities of amberjacks (Seriola dumerili) reared in tanks the experimental facilities Spanish Institute Oceanography (Western Mediterranean) during period 1998–2000. Fish infested by this parasite presented characteristics similar to those described for Seriola quinqueradiata parasitized Heteraxine heterocerca Japan. All dead had high abundance (mean abundanceFS.D.=686.7F125.4) and egg strings entangled gills. The parasitological analysis 17 live collected from showed that 41.2% fish harboured Z. intensities ranging between 5 731 parasites per fish. No apparent relationship observed condition factor (rS=0.175, n=17, p>0.5). However, haematocrit values were significantly lower monogeneans. negative statistically significant (rS=0.625, p<0.01). light scanning electron microscope studies affected gills revealed attached host grasping one or two lamellae each clamp haptor, which led lamellar synechiae, clubbing disruption epithelial vascular structures.
