摘要: Summary The purposes of this study were to collect baseline data on parasitology a native species and determine if parasite infestations by Lernaea cyprinacea related size, month sex. An infestation L. cyprinacea was monitored Barbus comizo (n = 307) from March October 2004 in the River Guadiana, south-western Iberian Peninsula; over 55.7% examined B. comizo infested. The number female parasites per fish ranged 1 8. There significant differences prevalence, abundance, intensity among months. Prevalence highest August, while abundance (5.16) (5.32) September. Infestation levels significantly size (rs = 0.947, n = 171, P < 0.05) condition factor (rs = −0.199, n = 169, P < 0.05). Haematocrit values lower infected (Mann–Whitney U = 21, level independent sex (χ2 = 0.87, dorsal ventral areas most heavily parasitized.
