摘要: A multi-nested prediction system for the Yellow Sea using drifter trajectory simulations was developed to predict movements of an oil spill after MV Hebei Spirit accident. The speeds trajectories predicted by model without tidal forcing were substantially faster than observations; however, predictions taking into account tides, including both cycle and subtidal periods, satisfactorily improved. Subtidal flow in simulation tides stronger that with because reduced frictional effects. Friction induced stress decelerated southward flows driven northwesterly winter winds along Korean coast Sea. These results strongly suggest order produce accurate trajectories, must include effects, such as variations within a advections over longer time scales tide-dominated areas.
