Importance of Molecular Structure on the Thermophoresis of Binary Mixtures.

摘要: Using thermal lens spectroscopy, we study the role of molecular structural isomers butanol on thermophoresis (or Soret effect) binary mixtures methanol in butanol. In this study, show that signal due to effect changes its sign for all different concentrations with except one containing tertiary-butanol. The magnitude and coefficients strongly depend structure mixture methanol. This isomerization dependence is stark contrast expected mass effect.
