摘要: The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) has outlined its “Next System” (NAS) that will focus on resident and residency outcome measurements. Emergency medicine (EM) is one of seven specialties implement the NAS beginning July 2013. All other follow in 2014. A key component development assessable milestones, which are explicit accomplishments or behaviors occur during process education. Milestones describe competencies more specifically identify specialty-specific knowledge, skills, attitudes, (KSABs) can be used as measures within general competencies. ACGME American Board Medicine (ABEM) convened an EM milestone working group to develop milestones. This article describes development, use NAS, challenges milestones.
