摘要: The role of fludeoxyglucose F 18 positron emission tomography (PET) in the presurgical evaluation patients with medically intractable epilepsy continues to be refined. purpose this study was systematically review literature assess diagnostic accuracy and utility PET setting. Thirty-nine studies were identified through MEDLINE EMBASE databases that met inclusion criteria. In adult patients, hypometabolism showed a 56 90% agreement seizure onset localized by intracranial electroencephalogram (pediatric: 21 86%). temporal lobe good surgical outcome, displayed moderate high sensitivity localizing focus (range: 71 89%). increased 8 23% when results combined magnetic resonance imaging or electroencephalogram. has been shown affect patient management improving guidance electrodes placement, altering decision perform surgery, excluding from further evaluation.
