摘要: Eleven patients demonstrated striking neuropsychological evidence of right‐hemisphere dysfunction, including severe deficits in nonverbal intellect, visual memory, and visuospatial functions. Verbally mediated abilities were relatively intact. Poor paralinguistic skills, shyness, chronic emotional social maladjustment also characteristic findings. This pattern cognitive behavioral functioning was lifelong. Computed tomography studies showed no structural abnormalities any the patients' brains. Our data support conclusion that this constellation symptomatology represents a developmental learning disability right hemisphere. Early detection syndrome, particularly with respect to deficits, may facilitate specific efficacious interventions.
